Delhi High Court gave the decision

To be eligible for a caste certificate in Delhi, the applicant must fulfil certain conditions. First and foremost, the applicant must be a permanent resident of Delhi. They must also belong to a caste recognised as Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe or Other Backward Class by the Government of India. Documentary proof must be available for this. If the applicant or his family has migrated from another state, then proof of caste certificate from the previous state must be submitted. Also, the applicant should not have a similar certificate from another state or union territory.

Documents required for caste certificate in Delhi

A- Proof of residence (Aadhaar card/Voter ID card/Passport)
B- Age verification document (Birth Certificate / School Certificate)
C- Caste certificate of parents
D- Affidavit declaring caste and residential status
E- Recent passport size photograph

Online Application Process for Caste Certificate in Delhi
The Delhi government has made this process convenient for residents by digitizing it-

1-Visit the official Delhi e-District portal.
2- If you have not yet registered on the site, then register first, this will also be done immediately from the same portal.
3- Log in using your credentials and select the ‘Issue of Caste Certificate’ service.
4- Fill the required and requested information and upload the required documents.
5- Submit the application and note down the application ID for future login.

You can download your caste certificate in this way.

First of all go to the official website of e-district portal of Delhi government.
If you haven’t registered yet, you’ll need to create an account. You can register by providing basic information like your name, mobile number, and email.
After logging in, you will have to click on the ‘Download Certificate’ option on the website.
You will be asked to enter your application number, which you would have received while applying for caste certificate.
After entering your application number, click on the ‘Search’ button.
If your certificate is ready, you will see the option ‘Download’. Click on it to download your caste certificate.
As soon as you click, your certificate will be downloaded and gone to your saved files.

What are the rules regarding migrants?
